Communique conducts a groundbreaking study on the Arab Perceptions of the West, including opinion polls in six countries, expert interviews, the role of public policy, and the media's role in shaping perception

Through a leading Kuwaiti media and marketing firm, New Future, we advise the Government of Kuwait with ongoing research on studies helping the Kuwaiti government and Western policy makers with forming public communications and improving media and opinion leader relations.

For the Arab Perceptions of the West study, we executed public opinion polls in six countries, interviewed leading experts on the topic, distilled secondary studies, books, white-papers, articles and summarized third party polls. This study helps the Kuwaiti government and Western policy makers with forming public communications and improving media and opinion leader relation, and unveils Arab perceptions and factors that shape perception of the West. The study is the basis for a book (Arab Perceptions of the West (in Arabic and English)), a guide to Arab media and journalism on East-West Relations (Middle East Journalist Guide to Covering the US), and a lecture tour in 2006. The Arab Perceptions of the West surveyed Arabs in the Middle East, the US and the UK on perception and understanding of the West, influence of factors creating that image and understanding the role of the media, and means of improving perceptions and understanding.

For the Perception of Islam in the West study, we executed public opinion polls in the US and Europe, interviewed leading experts, distilled secondary studies and books, as well as summarized third party polls. This study, the most comprehensive of its kind, helps the Kuwaiti government with forming public communications, working with Western Islamic groups, and improving media and opinion leader relations. The study is the basis for a book (The Perception of Islam in the West), a journalist guide (The Journalist’s Guide to Islam and Muslims), a website (www.islamperceptions.org) and lecture tour in 2005 and 2006.
